Farragut Community
School District/Hamburg Community School District Reorganization

Shall the Hamburg Community School District and the Farragut Community School District be reorganized to form a new school district known as the Nishnabotna Community School
District to
include all of the territory of the Hamburg Community School District and the Farragut Community School District as legally described in the published Decision of the Board
of Directors of Green Hills AEA regarding the Petition for the
Reorganization of the Hamburg Community School District and the Farragut Community School District, shall the initial
board of
directors be comprised of five (5) directors appointed in accordance with Iowa Code Section 275.41, with two (2) directors appointed by the Hamburg Community School
District Board of Directors, two (2) directors appointed by the Farragut Community School District Board of Directors, and with a fifth director to be unanimously appointed or specially
elected, shall the proposed school district be governed thereafter by a regular
board of directors comprised of five (5) directors, shall the method of election for the regular board be the
election of five (5) directors, with four members being residents of two multi-member director districts and one member being elected at large, and with all directors elected by the
electors of the entire district as set forth in Iowa Code Section 275.12(2)(c), and shall the assets and liabilities of the two districts merge and become the assets and liabilities
of the newly reorganized district effective July
1, 2015?

December 9, 2014:

At 9:00 a.m. the board canvassed the Farragut/Hamburg School Special Election held December 2, 2014, finding the Public Measure passed in Farragut by 339 votes, and failed in Hamburg by 7 votes.

December 16, 2014:

At 10:15 a.m. the board re-canvassed the Special School Election held December 2, 2014.  The recount board rejected one of the no votes counted by the precinct officials, therefore the Board of Supervisors consider the re-canvass official.
